On Sunday’s game against the Saints, Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery set a new franchise record in single game receiving yards. He had 10 receptions for 216 yards, he beat the previous record held by Harlon Hill, who had 214 yards against the 49ners in 1954. Even though, Alshon set this record he was still upset that the team lost, “It’s not about what I did; it’s about what the team did and we didn’t get the win,” Jeffery said. “That’s what I focus on. I’m more concerned about the ‘W,’ not about what I did. It’s a team thing. There were 11 guys it took for me to get 200-plus yards or whatever I had.” Teammates such as fellow wide receiver, Brandon Marshall were very happy to see this outstanding performance from the second year player out of South Carolina, “This guy had a career day,” Marshall said. “It’s just awesome to see this guy mature right before our eyes. I’ve always said this guy could be the best to ever do it. He’s probably going to shatter all the Bears records by the time he’s done at the receiver position.”
