this quote is trying to say that you must remain calm in order for you to succeed/win. Once you get mad and “lose your cool” you automatically gave the opposing person that chance to overcede you due to lack of restraint. No one is going to control your anger except you, the quicker you learn to cope with your anger the better you and your future will be.
